Lichfield School is situated within the beautiful rural village of Lichfield and surrounded by verdant farmland. It is approximately 8km south of Putāruru and 15km north of Tokoroa, on State Highway 1.
We are in a district known as the South Waikato, near the Central North Island of NZ. Residents enjoy the centrality of the position, being less than an hours drive from major shopping and tourist spots, such as Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton, and Tauranga.
To provide opportunities for all learners to identify and develop personal strengths and talents… so that they can be successful members of our society.
Every minute of every day we are learning, no matter if we are one day old or 90 years old.
Our vision points out that all members of our school learning community are life long learners.
Lichfield School has been serving the local community since 1884.

With winter illnesses currently circulating in our community, including influenza, we would like to remind everyone of the importance of keeping children home when they are unwell.
Students should remain at home while they have any systems, such as fever, significant coughing, vomiting or are generally too unwell to participate comfortably in the school day.
Thank you for helping to protect our staff, students and wider community.
Please find attached, more detailed information from Health New Zealand.
Stay well everyone!
Help Lichfield School Bloom with Hope This Daffodil Day!
Family and friends, it’s time to turn our school bright yellow and orange! Lichfield School is proudly supporting the Cancer Society for Daffodil Day to help raise funds for the 1 in 3 New Zealanders affected by cancer.
Come to school wearing your brightest, happiest yellow and orange clothing or accessories to show your support. We are asking for a gold coin donation or contributions via our school's online fundraising page https://www.daffodilday.org.nz/lichfield-school Every dollar raised helps fund vital medical research and support services for patients and their whānau.
Let’s show our community spirit and make a real difference together! Thank you for your generosity.
The attached notice will be going home with our Year 6 students today. Also attached is a copy of the Putaruru College Flyer.
We have a few Programmes running this term.
· Tricking: a movement sport that blends kicks, flips and spins from martial arts, gymnastics, and breakdancing. There's no grading; tamariki build skills at their own pace and put them together into their own style.
· Pickleball Foundation for Kids: pickleball is a fast, easy-to-learn racquet sport played on a small court with a paddle and a light plastic ball. It's one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and rallies start from day one, so tamariki are playing properly within their first session.
· Open Play Sessions a safe indoor space for our youngest tamariki to move, climb and play, with soft equipment set out and caregivers staying alongside. Ideal for pre-schoolers and for younger siblings around school pick-up.
Families can get in touch on 07 885 1059 or sportsandevents@southwaikato.govt.nz to register.
We also have a survey running in which anyone can have their say on future programmes or activities they would like to see. The survey is still running and available at this website: Help shape activities at the Sport and Events Centre - South Waikato District Council
