Below is the info I have sent to all parents. Apologies for any double up information you may receive. Please let me know if you have any questions!
We are incredibly excited to get the junior football season underway! To help make our Saturday mornings run smoothly for the players, parents, and coaches, we’ve put together a quick guide on what to expect. Please take a moment to read through the details below so you’re ready for kick-off.

Venue & Field Layout
All games are held at Putāruru College on the back field.
• Field Map: Please check the attached map of field Location, numbering and layout. This will be added to the draw also.
• Arrival: We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early so your player can find their team and warm up.
• Info point: There will be a central gazebo set up with a Putāruru Rangers representative. Please come to this if you are in need of assistance. Coaches please come and grab a coaches pack from here, with player of the day certificates and other helpful items for your season.
Results & Standings
In the spirit of junior development, we do not keep results tables or league standings. Our focus is entirely on skill development, teamwork, and, most importantly, having fun on the pitch!
Cancellations
If the weather is looking doubtful, a decision will be made by 7:30 AM on Saturday morning.
• An email will be sent to all parents and coordinators also.
• If there is no communication by 7:30 AM, games are ON.
Gear Required
Safety is our priority. Players must wear the following:
• Shin Guards: These are compulsory and must be worn under the socks.
• Footwear: Covered in shoes are compulsory, football boots (molded cleats) are recommended for grip on the grass.
If you need assistance getting this equipment, please let us know and we will do our best to help. There will be a boot library in operation at the Gazebo.
Positive Vibes
We want our park to be a positive environment for everyone.
• Let them play: Encourage your child, but please leave the coaching to the coaches and the officiating to the refs.
• Respect the Officials: Many of our referees are volunteers or young players learning the game. Please show them total support.
• Sideline Spirit: Keep all comments positive and encouraging for both teams.
We can’t wait to see all the kids out there on the grass. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your team coordinator.
See you Saturday!
